Any audio configuration
Engine can handle a multitude of audio formats, making it a highly versatile tool for loudness correcting masters or deliverables. The loudness modules flexibility means audio formats ranging from mono, 5.1 all the way up to 9.1.6 are supported and can have their loudness both measured and corrected. Enabling users to adhere to stringent loudness specifications knowing, in full confidence, they will not only meet the loudness specification, but ensure quality and creative intent is maintained within the contents audio.
Legacy metering and correction
Engine's loudness module provides a robust software replacement for traditional legacy loudness metering. Whilst legacy loudness meters are diminishing in popularity, there are certain applications where using a legacy meter is still important. Emotion Systems recognised this and have created a solution that provides a seamless transition from legacy metering to the modern age by allowing users to choose which specific meters to enable. The end result means Engines loudness module spans generations, and with easier updates and integration with other software, the loudness module will does not suffer from obsolescence as some legacy metering tools have done.
Segmentation based loudness
Engine allows users to define specific windows to measure and correct loudness. With adbreaks in mind, this extra flexibility was introduced to ensure no matter how far down the delivery chain you are, adhering to a loudness spec is not something that is out of reach. For content with no adbreaks but with line up tone at the start of the file, the loudness module allows to detect and ignore tone. Including line up tone in a loudness measurement is a sure-fire way to get erroneous measurements. With a feature such as detect and ignore tone, users can ensure that they will only measure the content that matters. Such meticulous features ensure that audiences can enjoy a consistent and high-quality listening experience, whether they're using a home theatre system, a pair of headphones, or a professional cinema setup.
Support for Dolby E and Dolby Digital
With Engine, support for premium audio formats like Dolby E and Dolby Digital is built-in. These formats are widely used in broadcasting and cinema, so this capability is crucial for professional audio work. The loudness module can decode and re-encode Dolby files, allowing users to measure and correct encoded audio. It can also be inserted inside our Dolby encoding modules as a means to measure and correct the dialnorm value.
Loudness Compliance & Control
Engine provides advanced loudness control features, ensuring compliance with international standards. This feature is essential in today's broadcasting world, where adherence to standards like those from the ITU and EBU is critical. Engine's precise control over loudness levels ensures a consistent audio experience across different platforms and formats, eliminating unpleasant volume changes for listeners.
Full Automation of Audio Processing
One of Engine's most significant advantages is its capacity for the full automation of audio processing. By automating repetitive loudness tasks, the software reduces the potential for human error and speeds up the workflow. Engine's robust automation capabilities also free up audio professionals to focus on more creative and complex tasks, making it an invaluable tool in a fast-paced audio post-production environment.
